AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 builds upon the successful history of the AVG Anti-Virus product line that has been developed with the years of experience of providing antivirus protection. AVG Anti-Virus has been protecting computers around the world for more than 10 years! AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 has been redesigned in order to provide improved system performance; the additional modularity and flexibility of the internal structure enhance the ease-of-use of the new functions and settings options.

AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 includes an improved scanning engine which supports the rapid implementation of new detection techniques. Some of the improvements include new functions (such as checking (do we want to say "testing") and healing of the system registry), improved system performance (for example, quicker access to tested objects), and the optimization of update files to make them smaller, especially in case of "priority" updates. The combination of system modularity and language independence significantly shortens the process of creating, testing and distributing, as well as installing AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 update files. Also, computer restarts following updates will be necessary much less frequently. Another improvement is the classification of updates according to their importance in three different levels - priority, recommended and optional. In addition to releasing virus database updates whenever new virus threats are identified, regularly scheduled updates will be released two times a week.

The new system design allows us to accelerate the deployment cycle for new features and other program improvements. New functionality will be available much sooner, and best of all, under the new AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 license policy, the new features are included in the program updates during the valid license period!

The AVG Anti-Virus 7.0 program engine requires fewer system resources and improves computer performance during scanning by allowing the user to define gaps in between the testing of particular files. In addition to the on-access scanning of files (i.e. whenever files are opened and executed) the new resident shield supports the additional option of checking files as they are saved - on- close scanning.
The new user interface supports more functions and user settings, including the user-definition of shortcut buttons for the most-used functions. The number of scheduling options for updates and Tests has been increased and includes alternatives to run tasks even when the schedule was missed (such as when the computer was switched off or the Internet was not accessible). Scheduled tasks can be performed even when no user is logged on to the computer.
In addition to supporting individual e-mail clients through program plugins (e.g. The Bat, MS Outlook 95/97/2000/XP, etc.), a significant addition for protecting e-mail clients has been added. The Personal E-mail Scanner - AVG EMS supports e-mail clients that use the SMTP and POP3 protocols.

AVGADMIN, the administration tool for networks, is included with the AVG Network and AVG E-mail Scanner Editions. AVGADMIN supports remote installation and configuration, remote updates on the LAN, the remote scanning of systems and files, as well as the creation of detailed statistics for analysis.
All users of commercial versions benefit from the high-speed download service when downloading update files. The availability and accessibility of update files is guaranteed - even during periods of high requests for updates (e.g. following the publication of new virus database updates). AVG for NT/2000 file server

This edition of AVG Anti-Virus protects Windows NT/2000 server systems. It differs from the standard AVG by its approach to "on access" scanning. Not only does it check local file access but also remote access, that is request for file access from local stations on the network. The new AVG for NT/2000 server contains direct support of Terminal server. AVG Control Center is used for setting parameters of all AVG components like Resident Shield, etc. AVG for NT/2000 server extends virus protection onto network servers. It is an important part of the fight against virus infection.

AVGADMIN 7.0

AVGADMIN is designed to help you install, administer and automatically update AVG on client machines on your network. The application is not dependent on the type of network you are running and can be used even on heterogenic networks.
